Are You Living Like an Animal or a True Human Being?
In life, animals act based on instinct. They kill to survive, protect themselves, and take only what they need for their survival. As humans, we’re often classified as animals, but we prefer to think of ourselves as more evolved. What does it truly mean to be “human”? Is it just about survival, or does humanity signify something deeper?
When you observe human behavior, you’ll notice that we often take more than we need. We harm others, not just for survival, but emotionally, financially, or even physically—often without reason. So, if someone from another planet studied us, would they really see us as human beings?
Four Aspects of Being Truly Human:
Physical Body: The most obvious aspect of ourselves, the physical body is the vessel through which we interact with the world.
Emotional Body: This encompasses our feelings, including love, joy, and even pain. It’s the driving force behind many of our actions.
Mental Body: This is where our thoughts, beliefs, and decision-making take place.
Spiritual Body: Often overlooked, this part connects us to a higher purpose, aligning us with the forces of nature and the universe.
Animals act on instinct, but humans frequently react based on unprocessed emotional drives. Our unchecked emotions lead our actions, often creating chaos in our personal and professional lives.
The Key: Put Spirituality First
To truly embody the title of "human being," we must prioritize our spiritual body. Spiritual practices help us activate the dormant part of ourselves that brings clarity, calm, and purpose. By doing so, we stop reacting emotionally, gain control of our thoughts, and act in alignment with the world around us.
Stop Letting the Tail Wag the Dog
Too often, we let our emotions dictate our actions. This is like the tail wagging the dog. We justify emotional reactions with distorted logic, leading to destructive behaviors in our daily lives. This is the opposite of how we should function.
Instead, imagine placing spirituality at the forefront of your life. By nurturing your spiritual self, you take control of your emotions and thoughts. As a result, your actions become more thoughtful, intentional, and aligned with your goals. You gain clarity, ease, and purpose in life.
Ignoring your spiritual side is like driving a car with a malfunctioning dashboard. Your mental engine is redlining with stress, anxiety, and strain. If your emotions are out of control, your thoughts will follow, and your actions may become destructive. This can lead to burnout and emotional or physical health issues.
